Rachael on Valentines

This is Rachael on Valentine's Day in 2007, 2008, 2009.

Party

Friday Rachael had a Valentine's Day Party with her cousins and some of their friends. The day involved gifts, games, treats and a sugar crash some hours later. So you know everyone had fun.
I don't recognize some of these kids.

Indian Oven

This is Teresa at The Indian Oven on Thursday. We could eat there every night, but end up going once a year.

Lost Egypt

On Thursday evening Teresa and I attended the opening of The Lost Egypt exhibit at The Columbus Museum Of Art.

One of the pictures has a painting of a roman man on the head. I thought it was an edgy work of art from the 1960's or 70's, but Teresa told me it was actually a short lived movement in Egypt during Roman control where they attached a painting of the deceased on the head of the mummy. Shortly after I took these pictures I was told to put the camera away, no pictures were allowed.

Afterward we had our Valentine's Day supper at The Indian Oven. A tradition for us, but this year on Thursday, because that's when the sitter was available.

Getting Out

The weather here has been warm, but still wet and muddy. Teresa took Rachael and Slane to the Polaris Mall on Tuesday, becuase they have a huge play area for kids. They were supposed to go to COSI, but discovered it was closed on Monday & Tuesday untill summer.

Magic Fish

I was worried about Rachael coming downstairs by herself in the middle of the night. I guess dealing with a witch, queen and frog (the frog is nice, but still worries her a little) is a little much.
We visited the pet store to buy magic fish to keep them all away. Walking into Pet Mart I asked the young woman where the magic fish were.
"What kind of fish are those?"
DUH! I wasn't the one who worked there.
"I'm sure they are with the other fish." She pointed the way to the fish.
After buying the fish & supplies Rachael named them Max and Max. Max is brown while Max is gold so they are easy to tell apart. We put the fish in her room.
This morning Rach said the magic fish worked.

Slane

Teresa wanted everyone to see Slane in his argyle outfit.

A warm...er day out.

It got up to 50 here today so I bundled Rach up and we WALKED to storytime. It was a bear of a walk, because all the way there the snow was still high and blocking most sidewalks, so it wasn't so much a walk as a controlled fall. It was good we left when we did, at Main and Grand a woman in a motorized wheelchair was stuck in the snow trying to cross the street. Another guy and I pulled her out and got her to the other side of the road. Rachael was very impressed.
On the way back we had lunch at McDonalds. The prize in her Happy Meal was a Hello Kitty watch. Much snazzier than the prizes we used to get.
The walk home was much easier, most of the snow was gone.

Slane

Slane is now strong enough to play in his "Circus". It's a toy he can bounce up and down in.
Rachael always tried to drill it into the floor.
