Kids and Santa

We hit Easton yesterday to have the kids pictures taken with Santa. We couldn't go as early as we wanted, but we got there at 12:45 and stood in line and were informed that Santa would be taking a break at 1:00 and returning at 1:45. I told Teresa she should walk around and I would wait there. I'd planed on waiting at least 45 minutes anyway. Teresa walked around for a minute and came back to get Rachael and the two of them had ice cream while Slane and I held the spot.

It was funny watching the new parents show up only to take one look at the line and walk off shaking their heads. They are going to be very disappointed when they don't have pictures of their kids with Santa to look back on.

The kids were great and really enjoyed sitting on his lap. All of the other parents in line were very polite and resigned to the idea of a wait in line being inevitable. We all got along very well.

Here is a picture from 2008 and one from 2009.

Cookies

Finally make the gingerbread cookies last night.
Rachael's favorite parts were cutting out the shapes and the rolling pin.
I'm glad I made 3 batches of dough because this batch of cookies is nearly gone already.

Decemberrrrr

This is Rachael at her Decemberrrrrr Zookids. It was a special 5 hour Saturday Zookids. They learned about winter animals and what they ate. The got to see an Owl and pet a turtle.
She looks unhappy here because she was coming down with a cold and we didn't know it.

Christmas 2009

Teresa and Rachael are decorating the small tree in the kitchen. This is the first tree she has helped decorate so she is asking questins like, "What's a hook?" and "Why does Santa have a red belt?"

It's fun to hear her ask about things I take for granted.

Library

Rachael, Slane and I visited the library to see their model train exhibit for Christmas, while Teresa had appointments.
It looked as if it had about 5 trains going.
