On Thursday June 12, 2008 a wild rain storm dumped more water than anyone can remember in German Village. The storm drain system was overwhelmed and S. 3rd St. flooded around Sycamore. You can see Starbucks in the background and the pictures were taken from around the Book Loft across the street. The tables and chairs you see are MoJoe Lounge and it gives you an idea of how high the water was.
The cars you see across the street didn't park there, that's where they came to rest after bobbing around in the water.
